Points of Interest:
Chisago County in Minnesota is rich in early pioneer
history. The people take pride in preserving the
locations, buildings, and artifacts that represent their
heritage. You can see many items the European
immigrants used during their labors to establish new
farms, homes and businesses, as they built new
communities in America.

you may want to explore while you visit our area.
Lindstrom Antique Mall - [Facebook]
Local antique dealers display and sell items from the past.
You will want to revisit periodically because the large
inventory changes frequently, with new (old) items
arriving weekly.

North West Company Fur Post - [Website] [Facebook]
Step into the recreated world of 1804, where you can stop
at the Ojibwe encampment and learn how the seasonal
living changed when Europeans arrived. This is a
Minnesota Historical Society managed site in Pine City.

St. Croix Scenic Byway - [Website]
Follow the stagecoach trail on Old Government Road. New
"Highway 61" signs announce this well-traveled path used
by early pioneer settlers.

Swedish Circle Tours - [Website]
Both guided and self-guided tours of the 8 towns in the
Kichi-Saga greater area. Also featuring The Emigrant
Story - Erik Norberg from the Bishop Hill Colony in
Illinois arrived in Taylors Falls in 1850.

Swedish Immigrant Trail - [Website]
Enjoy the 20 mile, multi-use walking and bicycling trail
commemorating Swedish history in the county. When
completed, the cities of Taylors Falls and Wyoming, MN
will be interconnected by this trail.

Taylors Falls Paddleboat History Cruise - [Website]
Ride the authentic paddlewheel boat through the historic
Dalles of the St. Croix River. Learn about the fur trade,
riverboat commerce, lumbering and logging, Indian
history and/or immigration related to the St. Croix River
Valley.
Almelund Threshing Company - [Website] [Facebook]
Pioneer village, courthouse, schoolhouse, merchantile
store, barbershop, and depot. A three-day event is held
each August featuring antique engines, tractors, sawmill,
livestock, and arts & crafts.

Amador Heritage Center - [Website]
Buildings and memorabilia from pioneer homes and
industries who settled in the Almelund and surrounding
areas. Located just east of the historic church.

Folsom House Museum - [Website] [Facebook]
A Minnesota Historical Society heritage site in Taylors
Falls Angel Hill district, a New England-style village. The
home of lumber baron W.H.C. Folsom features St. Croix
River views. Folsom moved his family to Taylors Falls in
1850, served as state representative for one term and
state senator for six terms.

Visit the many buildings on Gammelgården Museum's 11
acre site. Your tour guide will provide information about
the Välkommen Hus, Präst Hus, Gammel Kyrkan,
Ladugård, Immigrant Hus and Swedish Stuga.

Offering dining and hotel room accommodations. Each
room has been tastefully renovated to resemble the
original Grant House Hotel, built in 1896. Each room is
equipped with modern amenities to make your stay

Ironhorse Central Railroad Park - [Website]
Steam locomotives and a mile of track surround a family
picinic area on this unique railroad attraction.
