Cemetery records:
One of our most popular research resources has been the book Burials in Chisago County compiled by Earl W. Leaf in 1994. It is a listing of all known burials and deaths in Chisago County up to that time. This extensive work was created from physical cemetery audits, transcriptions, county death records, and obituaries.

The information from this resource is now posted on the
Find-A-Grave website. New data is being added daily. You can submit updates or corrections for any memorial record. Visit our Cemeteries webpage for more information about this project.

Online "People" Indexes:
The "People" indexes are from the latest 7-volume work by Earl W. Leaf, The People of Chisago County (19th Century). This work is fully indexed and is being digitized and brought online. In additon to the main surname index, there are indexes of veterans, married couples, newspaper references, and "hired hands" found working on farmsteads.
